Miss Joganathan began her career in Ophthalmology in 2009. She is a consultant at University Hospital Southampton and Lymington New Forest Hospital, specialising in eyelid, lacrimal (tear duct), orbital (eye socket) surgery, in children and adults and she has been in this post since 2019.
Miss Joganathan graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Dundee and underwent training in Ophthalmology within the Cambridge deanery. After completion of training, she undertook an eclectic triad of fellowship training with world leaders in Oculoplastic, Orbital and Lacrimal surgery at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and the Academic Medical Centre in Amsterdam. She has also underwent training in non surgical cosmetic procedures for facial rejuvenation and harmonisation, to include anti wrinkle injections and skin injectables.
Miss Joganathan is a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologist (FRCOphth) and a fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmologist (FEBO) and a member of the British Oculoplastic Surgical Society (BOPSS). She has published widely in the peer-reviewed medical literature and presented at national and international conferences. She regularly reviews academic and research articles for the leading journals.
Miss Joganathan is also involved in supervision of ophthalmology specialist trainees and fellows, both locally and nationally and has facilitated in the running of national courses for doctors and allied healthcare professionals.
She has an ongoing interest in international ophthalmology and non-governmental organisations in developing nations, working as an associate staff doctor in local and international projects with Orbis International Flying Eye Hospital.
