Dr Lolin – Consultant in Chemical Pathology & Metabolic Medicine

Dr Lolin is a highly experienced Consultant in Chemical Pathology and Metabolic Medicine, with dual specialist accreditation listed on the GMC register. She provides expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, screening, and treatment of complex metabolic and biochemical disorders within a specialist clinic setting.

After qualifying at Guy’s Medical School, Dr Lolin undertook extensive postgraduate clinical training, including junior doctor rotations and completion of an MSc under Professor Vincent Marks. She progressed to Senior Registrar level and became Deputy/Acting Head of Department at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, where she managed complex cases involving neurological and metabolic disease.

During this time, through the hospital’s close collaboration with Great Ormond Street Hospital, Dr Lolin completed a PhD in the neuropharmacokinetics of antiepileptic drugs, contributing to advanced clinical understanding of drug therapy and biochemical monitoring. She later held an academic post as Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong.

On returning to the UK, Dr Lolin was appointed Consultant in Chemical Pathology and Metabolic Medicine at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, where she practised for 18 years. In 2016, she moved to East Sussex NHS Trust, continuing her specialist work in diagnostic medicine, metabolic investigation, and patient treatment pathways.

Dr Lolin has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications covering lipids, homocysteine, metabolic disorders, toxicology, and biochemical abnormalities. Her research has contributed to national clinical guidelines, including NICE lipid protocols, and has informed best practice in screening, diagnosis, and treatment standards.

She is recognised by all major insurance providers and welcomes both insured and self-paying patients for consultation, investigation, and ongoing treatment and management plans.
