Dr Tosin Otunla has been a practising clinician for over 30 years. He has been a Surrey based NHS consultant neonatologist as well as a paediatrician with expertise in cardiology for over fifteen years.
He obtained his primary medical degree in Nigeria, did his specialist paediatric training in the United Kingdom and undertook a neonatal fellowship programme in Vancouver, Canada. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (UK) with subspecialty accreditation in Neonatology. He is also an honorary consultant paediatrician at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London.
Dr Otunla has been a regular member of the teaching faculty at UK ‘hands on’ paediatric echocardiography courses.
Tosin is privileged to have a broad international flavour to his working experience, which comes in useful in his interactions with his young patients and their families. He enjoys making his consultations both a pleasant and fun learning experience and is skilled and patient when it comes to managing anxious patients.
He has a strong clinical interest in a broad range of general and specialist infant, toddler and childhood medical conditions (see main interests below).
In terms of cardiology, he runs a one-stop heart murmur service, which includes performing and interpreting echocardiograms. He also interprets ECGs and 24-hour tapes.
His passions include exploring different cultures & traditions, nurturing and empowering young people, football and Lawn Tennis. He loves quizzes and word games and is an inveterate 'Googler'.
