Dr Prajendra Choudhary

Dr Choudhary performs EMG (Electromyography) and NCS (Nerve Conduction Studies) specifically for the assessment of orthopaedic-related neuromuscular conditions.

Referrals typically involve patients experiencing pins and needles in the hands (such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or Ulnar Neuropathy) or pain in the limbs due to conditions like Sciatica or Cervical Radiculopathy (trapped nerves in the lower back or neck). He also frequently assesses patients for potential nerve injury following orthopaedic trauma or surgery.

He trained as a neurologist in India, completing his postgraduate medical studies and sub-specialisation in neurology at Mumbai University. He then worked across several UK hospitals in a variety of neurology roles and conducted neuropathy research at Guy’s Hospital. His Neurophysiology CCT training was undertaken at King’s College Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital, after which he was appointed as a Consultant in Clinical Neurophysiology at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham.

Since 2002, he has practised independently, performing only EMG and NCS assessments, with his work now focused exclusively on orthopaedic‑related neuromuscular referrals. He carries out approximately 5,000 studies each year.
