About
Dr Loumidis is an experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist who has helped thousands of patients improve their mental health and wellbeing. With a background as both an NHS Consultant Clinical Psychologist and a Lecturer in Clinical Psychology, he brings a depth of clinical, academic and practical expertise to his work. He now works in full-time private practice, offering highly personalised care tailored to each individual.
He provides psychological assessment and treatment for adults, adolescents aged 16 and over, and couples. His approach is flexible and responsive, supporting people through a wide range of difficulties—from everyday challenges such as stress, life changes, relationship issues and grief, to more complex mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, eating disorders, bipolar disorder and addictions. Where appropriate, he works closely with psychiatrists to provide coordinated care.
Dr Loumidis specialises in evidence-based psychological therapies, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), REBT, ACT and counselling approaches. His work is grounded in scientifically proven methods, and he is experienced in adapting therapy to suit complex personal and clinical needs, ensuring each patient receives the most effective support.
In addition to therapy, he offers rehabilitation services, including psychological assessments and treatment programmes to support recovery following injury or illness. He also provides occupational health support, helping individuals return to work and advising on fitness for work and employee wellbeing.
Dr Loumidis is a highly experienced expert witness, regularly preparing medico-legal reports for solicitors and medical reporting organisations. His areas of expertise include personal injury, clinical negligence, employment law and fitness to practise cases.
He offers appointments at Nuffield Health hospitals in Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton, as well as flexible virtual consultations across the UK, typically with short waiting times.
