Building a healthier Surrey

At Nuffield Health Woking Hospital, we’re deepening our partnership with Woking Football Club by donating life-saving equipment to the Laithwaite Community Stadium.

As part of our commitment to build a healthier nation, we’ve stepped out into the community to help expand and deepen a core partnership that helps drive this core mission.

By donating a life-saving defibrillator unit to the fan zone area at Woking Football Club, we’re able to enhance the safety and wellbeing of supporters, staff, and players alike.

The importance of on-site defibrillators
Sudden cardiac arrest can occur without warning, and the presence of a defibrillator significantly increases the chances of survival when used promptly.

As the club’s official healthcare partner and front-of-shirt sponsor for the 2025/26 season, Nuffield Health Woking Hospital continues to support Woking FC in its efforts to maximise health and safety processes across all aspects of the matchday experience.

Robin Byrne, Managing Director of Woking Football Club, said:

“Woking Football Club are proud to be strengthening our partnership with our main shirt sponsors, Nuffield Health Woking Hospital, who have recently donated a lifesaving defibrillator unit to our Fan Zone area. This generous contribution reflects Nuffield Health’s ongoing commitment to creating a healthier and safer environment here at the Laithwaite Community Stadium."

"As part of this initiative, club staff are undergoing specialist training to ensure that, in the unlikely event of an emergency, our fans can feel confident they are in safe and capable hands. We would like to once again extend our sincere thanks to our partners at Nuffield Health Woking Hospital for their continued support and generosity.”

The impact of our partnerships on the communities we serve
Our representatives attended the club’s media day recently and were included in the official squad photo for the current season, marking a visible moment of collaboration and shared purpose between our hospital and the club.

The installation of the defibrillator is a tangible example of how the partnership continues to deliver meaningful benefits to the local community, helping to create a safer and more resilient environment for all who visit the stadium.
