Everyone needs to move around and we all like to do this in different ways.  Dan wants to help you become the best version of yourself by discovering your favourite ways to train.  His specialties are resistance training, martial arts and nutrition; he also has a strong interest in flexibility, posture correction and cardio vascular fitness. He is passionate about the fitness industry and enjoys helping people of all levels of experience with their specific goals. I have over 12 years' experience in the fitness industry, I transitioned from county level cricket to competitive body building where I discovered my love for coaching athletes and total beginners. I've coached female bikini and men's physique competitors and understand the importance of building a strong foundation and correcting imbalances and most importantly making gym sessions enjoyable. My passion is to help people improve their confidence in the gym by training smart and increasing strength, mobility and lean muscle mass through proven high intensity low impact training methods. Daneka is a Wellness Personal Trainer and a Registered Associate Nutritionist from Belfast. She began her fitness journey in the dance community and gained a BA(Hons) in Drama and Dance, and quickly realised that Nutrition and Exercise go hand in hand for optimum health and performance. Since graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Nutrition, she has been practicing as a Health and Wellness Coach specialising in weight management, behaviour change, and lifestyle coaching. She undertook personal training to appropriately prescribe exercise in combination with a healthy and balanced diet. She can coach you how to gradually make changes to your lifestyle so that you can reach your goals. Don’t worry, she won’t tell you that you can never eat chocolate again, or say bye-bye pizza, because that’s not realistic and she is not a monster! If you feel that you are continuously training and not getting the results that you want, it could be because your diet just isn’t quite right, or maybe we need to tweak your exercise programme. If you don’t want any nutrition advice that’s fine, she is all about you and what you want. Let’s work together to make a better you.

The approach I take to helping clients achieve their goals is a direct reflection of how I train and improve myself. A combination of consistency, quality and perseverance in programming, session delivery and support facilitates the changes required for my clients to make sustainable improvements and work towards living as their optimal selves. I advocate errorless form, ensuring the movements patterns my clients are performing are optimising results with every repetition. My corporate background as a Civil Engineer helps me relate to and understand clients' demanding schedules. We can sometimes live in constant conflict between achieving our career goals and our health goals. I aim to help clients manage their health and fitness goals to ease pressures whilst still achieving their best results.

Meet Dan Towey, he is our Senior Personal Trainer at Manchester Printworks. What does his Senior status mean? In simple terms, he is at the top of his game in terms of qualifications and has over 15 years experience at this club alone as our longest serving Personal Trainer. Along with his knowledge gained from a First Class Degree in Sport Science, you can expect to receive exceptional training programmes and 1-2-1 coaching sessions to bring about optimal results for you. Dan likes to regularly track and log training sessions and perform routine fitness tests to ensure you are moving towards your goals.

He welcomes all, from beginners to regular exercisers, and uses his friendly and dedicated approach to motivate, inspire, and support you through fun, challenging and progressive training sessions.

He has built a sound professional reputation within the club and for getting clients the results they want, and is popular amongst those members whose goals are to reduce body fat and increase muscle tone & size, thus changing their body composition and body shape .

He can offer nutritional advice to help complement your training.

Dan uses a variety of training methods including advanced strength and aerobic training, core and flexibility, circuit training, boxing, ViPR, kettlebells etc. And can also cater for special populations, such as Pre and post natal exercise , and postural corrective exercise .

Dan is very active himself and plays football at a competitive level, and enjoys running, strength training, biking , boxing and snowboarding. He also coaches football at youth level.
