Professor Xavier Griffin is a highly experienced orthopaedic surgeon specialising in complex hip and pelvic conditions.
He is an internationally recognised expert in the treatment of severe pelvic bone and hip socket (acetabular) injuries, with extensive experience in reconstructing and stabilising complex fractures. His practice includes the management of both acute trauma and the long-term complications that can arise from these injuries.
As part of his specialist training and ongoing clinical work, Professor Griffin has particular expertise in:
- Hip replacement surgery for arthritis
- Revision hip replacement surgery for implants that are loose, worn, broken, or infected
- Management of complications following hip surgery
- Treatment of broken bones (fractures)
- Care of muscle and soft tissue injuries
- Orthopaedic trauma in both adults and children
He combines advanced surgical techniques with a comprehensive understanding of musculoskeletal injury and recovery, providing care across the full spectrum of hip and pelvic disorders.
Professor Xavier Griffin is a leading orthopaedic surgeon based in London and Oxford. He sees private patients at several renowned hospitals, including Nuffield Health The Manor Hospital and The London Clinic.
He is the current President of the Orthopaedic Trauma Society and serves as Chair of the SICOT Grants Awards Committee, reflecting his leadership within both UK and international orthopaedics.
Professor Griffin holds the Inaugural Chair of the new clinical and academic collaboration in orthopaedic surgery at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, where he plays a key role in advancing research, education, and clinical excellence in orthopaedic surgery.
