Siôn is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Univeristy of Oxford. He is also a Consultant at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre.
Siôn trained in Cambridge, London and Oxford. He specialises in hip arthroscopy (keyhole surgery of the hip) and hip replacement. Siôn leads the Oxford Hip Preservation and Young Adult Hip Units (patients aged less than 55 years). He leads a program of research at Oxford University dedicated to the prevention and treatment of hip osteoarthritis.

Professor Glyn-Jones leads a research group dedicated to understanding the causes of hip arthritis, novel imaging techniques and developing new joint preserving treatments for the hip. His research also focuses on the evaluation of new types of hip replacement. He has been awarded several large grants to investigate these areas.
Professor Glyn-Jones is one of the principal applicants at the ARUK Oxford Centre of Excellence in Sports Injuries and Osteoarthritis.
