About
Rajesh Nanda is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery, offering expert assessment and advanced treatment for a wide range of upper limb conditions — from everyday pain and injuries to complex trauma and joint reconstruction. He is known for his thoughtful, patient‑centred approach and his commitment to restoring comfort, function, and confidence in every patient he treats.
Mr Nanda studied medicine in India before completing postgraduate training in Orthopaedics. After moving to the UK, he undertook his Higher Surgical Training in the Northern Deanery, developing broad expertise in trauma, sports injuries and complex upper limb conditions. He also completed a highly prestigious Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship with Professor Rangan at the James Cook University Hospital, gaining specialist experience in advanced arthroscopic and reconstructive shoulder surgery.
He now works as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, where he treats patients with shoulder, elbow, hand and upper‑limb trauma problems. His practice combines meticulous clinical assessment with the latest evidence‑based surgical techniques.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Nanda is a passionate educator. As an Honorary Lecturer at Teesside University, he helps deliver and run the MCh Orthopaedics programme and teaches on multiple national training courses, including shoulder and elbow surgery, trauma management and FRCS (T&O) preparation.
