Mrs Holly Phimister

Holly is a Scoliosis Specialist Orthotist. She graduated from the University of Strathclyde in 2014.

She began her career in Yorkshire then Barts Health NHS Trust, and in 2017 joined the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. Here she developed advanced orthotic skills, including the treatment of complex orthopaedic conditions, neurological conditions, spinal cord injuries and the design and manufacture of scoliosis braces. In 2018 she was appointed Myeloma Lead Orthotist.

In 2022, Holly travelled to Germany to train under world-renowned expert Manuel Rigo, where she learned to prescribe, design and manufacture the evidence-based, internationally recognised Rigo–Chêneau scoliosis brace.

In 2024, she moved to Oxford to work as a Senior Orthotist and Spinal Lead Orthotist, where she introduced the Rigo–Chêneau brace to the department and continues to achieve excellent bracing outcomes for patients.
She has presented her work at the British Association of Prosthetics and Orthotics and the British Scoliosis Society national conferences.

Holly holds a BSc (Hons) in Prosthetics and Orthotics and is registered with HCPC, number PO04304. She is a member of the British Association of Prosthetics and Orthotics.
She is undertaking an MSci in Advanced Clinical Practice at Oxford Brookes University in September 2026.
