About
In 2021 I was appointed as a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at the Royal Devon University Hospital in Exeter, which is a National Oncoplastic Centre of Excellence.
Education
I trained in medicine at St George’s Hospital Medical School in London, where I graduated in 2007 with distinction in clinical sciences. Before that, I studied Biology (physiology) at the University of Leicester, finishing my degree in 2002.
I completed my higher surgical training in hospitals across the South West of England. During this time, I saw first-hand how much breast cancer affects women and their families, which led me to specialise in breast surgery. I became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2019.
After a competitive national selection process, I was awarded a prestigious Oncoplastic TIG Fellowship. I completed this alongside my specialist training in 2021.
Teaching
Alongside my clinical work, I’m actively involved in teaching and training. I’m currently the Clinical Teaching Lead for breast surgery at Exeter Medical School and the College Tutor for the Royal College of Surgeons.
I also hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education. I play a key role in maintaining high standards of surgical training in Exeter.
