About

Mrs Amber Tahir is an experienced consultant Gynaecologist. She began her medical career with a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery in 1994 and completed her postgraduate qualification while practising in Ireland.

She completed her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the West Midlands in 2009 and achieved specialist qualifications in Urogynaecology, Benign Gynaecology, Early Pregnancy Complications, Medical Education, and Colposcopy from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London.

Mrs Tahir’s clinical expertise spans from laparoscopic surgery, open abdominal surgery, to vaginal surgery for prolapse, menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, ovarian cysts/abscesses, fibroids, endometriosis, vulval diseases, and abnormal vaginal bleeding. She possesses extensive expertise in hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery.

Her special interests include management of abnormal vaginal bleeding, pelvic pain, management of menopause, urinary incontinence and pelvic floor prolapse.

She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and an accredited colposcopist with BSCCP.
