Mr William Anderson

Mr Anderson has a broad range of clinical interests in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, providing specialist care for both children and adults within his NHS practice. He is highly experienced in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and surgical management of complex reconstructive conditions and is frequently involved in multidisciplinary cases requiring reconstruction following trauma, cancer surgery, congenital abnormalities, infection and major tissue loss. As a fully trained microvascular and reconstructive surgeon, he performs advanced procedures involving free tissue transfer, microsurgical flap reconstruction and complex soft tissue reconstruction to restore both function and appearance.

Mr Anderson provides a regional specialist service for genitoperineal reconstruction, managing patients requiring reconstruction following cancer treatment, trauma, inflammatory disease, congenital conditions and complex wound complications. He also serves as the Clinical Lead for the Laser Department at St John’s Hospital, overseeing the delivery of advanced laser procedures and laser therapy for a variety of reconstructive, vascular and dermatological conditions, including the treatment of scars, vascular lesions, skin abnormalities and other complex soft tissue disorders.

A recognised specialist in breast reconstruction surgery, Mr Anderson has extensive expertise in both autologous breast reconstruction and implant-based reconstruction following mastectomy for breast cancer. His microsurgical practice includes procedures such as DIEP flap reconstruction, utilising the patient's own tissue to achieve natural and long-lasting results. He develops personalised treatment plans tailored to each patient's clinical needs, anatomy and reconstructive goals. In addition, he performs a comprehensive range of aesthetic breast procedures, including breast augmentation, breast reduction, mastopexy (breast uplift), revision breast surgery and body contouring procedures, helping patients restore confidence and improve both physical and psychological wellbeing.

As part of his wider Plastic Surgery practice, Mr Anderson is actively involved in the management of burn injuries, traumatic soft tissue injuries, complex wounds, skin cancer and post-oncological defects. He performs reconstructive procedures following the excision of melanoma, basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma, using advanced reconstructive techniques to optimise both functional and cosmetic outcomes. His expertise extends across the entire patient pathway, from initial consultation and diagnosis through to surgery, wound management, scar optimisation, rehabilitation and long-term follow-up care.

In private practice, Mr Anderson has a particular interest in cosmetic surgery of the face, breast and body, as well as surgical and non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments. His practice includes procedures such as eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), facelift surgery, neck lift surgery, liposuction and body contouring, alongside non-surgical treatments including injectable therapies, skin rejuvenation procedures, laser treatments and scar management therapies. He combines advanced surgical expertise with evidence-based techniques and a patient-centred approach to deliver safe, effective and natural-looking outcomes.
