Mr Vipul Mandalia



Mr Mandalia obtained his orthopaedic training through the Wessex Deanery. He developed an interest in knee surgery early in his career, working with some renowned knee surgeons. He obtained his fellowship training in knee surgery at leading centres in the UK and the USA (University of Alabama, University of Pittsburgh).

Mr Mandalia specialises in the treatment of:

  • Sports knee injury (cartilage, meniscal, cruciate and multi-ligament injury)
  • Cartilage disorder
  • Knee instability
  • Patellofemoral disorders (anterior knee pain, patellofemoral mal-alignment and instability)
  • Early and advanced knee arthritis and deformity
  • Hip Arthritis

Mr Mandalia has expertise in all aspects of knee surgery including:

  • Arthroscopic surgery (microfracture, meniscal repair or resection, lateral release)
  • Cartilage repair and regeneration surgery
  • Patellar realignment and stabilisation (lateral release, tibial tubercle osteotomy, ligament reconstruction, trochleoplasty)
  • Anterior and Posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction
  • Corrective osteotomy of lower limb
  • Patellofemoral replacement, partial knee replacement and total knee replacement
