About
Mr Tim Cresswell was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Derby in 2006, following completion of his specialist training in Sheffield.
He undertook advanced subspecialty training in elbow surgery under Mr David Stanley in Sheffield, a nationally recognised expert in elbow disorders. Building on this, Mr Cresswell completed a series of prestigious fellowships, including:
- A Shoulder Fellowship in Cape Town with Dr Joe de Beer
- A Hand Fellowship at the Pulvertaft Hand Centre, Derby
- An AO Trauma Fellowship in Indianapolis, USA, working with Dr Hill Hastings II
Mr Cresswell is a core member of the Derby Shoulder & Elbow Unit and also works within the Pulvertaft Hand Unit, enabling him to provide comprehensive care across the entire upper limb.
Clinical Practice
His practice encompasses the assessment and treatment of a wide range of shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand conditions, combining expertise in both elective upper‑limb surgery and trauma care.
Mr Cresswell’s broad subspecialist training allows him to deliver integrated, patient‑centred care for complex upper‑limb pathology.Mr Cresswell completed his orthopaedic training on the Sheffield Rotation before undertaking several prestigious international fellowships. As an AO Travelling Fellow in the United States, he gained experience in leading centres in Indianapolis, Chicago and New York.
He subsequently completed a dedicated Shoulder Fellowship in South Africa under the renowned Joe De Beer, and further specialised training as a Fellow at the Pulvertaft Hand Centre in Derby.
Mr Cresswell is currently a Consultant at the Royal Derby Hospital and also practices at Nuffield Health Derby Hospital. His clinical practice covers the full spectrum of upper‑limb trauma and pathology, including conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.
