About
He qualified in 1997 from St. Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College, London. Following basic surgical training, he completed an MD degree for research undertaken on rotator cuff pathology at the University of Oxford. Orthopaedic training took place on the Severn training rotation with sub-specialty fellowship training at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford.
He was awarded the Robert Jones Gold Medal by the British Orthopaedic Association, the Kessel prize, from the British Elbow and Shoulder Society on two consecutive years and the Henry Smith research scholarship from the Royal College of Surgeons.
He was appointed as a Consultant at the University Hospital of Wales in August 2010.
Since his appointment he was awarded the highly sought after Mayo elbow fellowship from the British Elbow and Shoulder Society which allowed him to travel to the USA and work alongside Dr Shawn O’Driscoll, considered to be the world’s leading expert in elbow surgery.
