During his training he took time out to do a formal research degree in cancer genetics and obtained an MD thesis. Prior to his appointment as a hospital consultant he undertook a 1 year fellowship at St Vincent’s hospital in Melbourne, Australia in order to gain specific training in laparoscopic urology.
