About
Mr Rogers graduated from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School in 1999 and completed his higher specialist ophthalmology training in Wessex in 2010. Following this he completed a prestigious Fellowship in Oculoplastics at the Sydney Eye Hospital, Australia. He was a full-time consultant at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth from 2012 to 2023. In that role, he performed a wide range of oculoplastic surgery, often in collaboration with dermatologists as well as maxillofacial and ENT surgeons in the management and reconstruction of patients with head and neck cancers that involve the eyelids. In 2023 he joined the team at Sapphire Eye care to provide a full-time private oculoplastic service. He still attends twice monthly sessions in the NHS in his role in the specialist lacrimal (watery eye) service at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth.
His cosmetic practice is solely focused on the rejuvenation of the periocular area, and as a result of his specialist training and experience, he is a regional expert in this area of surgery.
Simon had been regularly involved in teaching ophthalmic trainees, juniors doctors and medical staff and has organised courses to develop teaching skills. He has also been on numerous trips to an eye hospital in Burma, where he has performed both oculoplastic and cataract surgery as part of an overseas charity programme.
