About
Mr Cockshott graduated from the University of Manchester in 1999. He completed his core and higher orthopaedic training in the West Midlands, gaining experience in several leading centres, including the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham and the Queen Elizabeth Major Trauma Centre. He subsequently undertook advanced subspecialty training at the renowned Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry.
Mr Cockshott went on to complete a lower‑limb fellowship in Derby before being appointed as a Consultant Lower Limb Orthopaedic Surgeon in 2014.
His specialist interests and areas of expertise include:
- Knee arthroscopy
- Knee replacement surgery, including partial, total and revision procedures
- Primary hip replacement surgery
Before pursuing a career in medicine, Mr Cockshott qualified as a pharmacist and worked in both the pharmaceutical industry and clinical pharmacy. This additional background provides him with enhanced insight into medication management, patient safety and perioperative care.
