About

Mr Simon Bick is a consultant orthopaedic hip surgeon with over 10 years of experience, who practices full-time in Bristol. Qualifying in South Africa in 2011, he then undertook three years of fellowship training in Bristol, before sitting his UK specialty examinations in 2015. His specialty registration and first consultant post commenced that same year, and he began his private practice in 2019.

His elective NHS practice is at Southmead Hospital in Bristol, where he performs primary and revision hip replacements, both simple and complex. He continues to work in Southmead’s Major Trauma Centre orthopaedic team.

Mr Bick’s non-clinical roles have included: three years of departmental Audit and Governance lead; three years of Hip Group Lead, and ten years as a supervisor to trainees and peer appraiser. He continues to be a member of the regional Hip Periprosthetic Joint Infection team.

His practice is monitored in national databases available to the public, and he uses implants with proven track-records of safety and longevity. Mr Bick offers patients high quality hip surgery in outcome, experience and attention to detail.
