About
Simon Bailey is an experienced, highly respected surgeon based in Kent with over 30 years of practice, with a strong track record of delivering safe, patient centred surgical care. Having trained at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London and completed his higher surgical training in both the South East and Wessex Regions. He completed a Master’s Degree focusing on day case haemorrhoidal surgery.
Qualifying as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, he became a Consultant Colorectal, General and Laparoscopic Surgeon at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in 2005. Mr Bailey has held multiple positions within the NHS and private healthcare settings including Clinical Director for Surgical Services, Royal College Tutor for Surgical Education, Colorectal Multidisciplinary Team Lead, Service Development for laparoscopic and day case emergency surgical pathways to name a few.
He is currently MAC Chairperson at KIMS Hospital in Kent and is also an Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Mr Bailey is committed to maintaining the highest professional standards and regularly engages in professional development, teaching and mentoring junior surgeons and medical students via the University of Guildford, with his continued work through the Royal College of Surgeons.
