Mr Shaishav Bhagat is a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at the Ipswich Spinal Unit, Ipswich Hospital NHS trust and Nuffield Health Ipswich.

Mr Bhagat obtained FRCS in (Trauma and Orthopaedics) at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2010. He was awarded a Eurospine diploma in 2012 in Budapest. He undertook extensive training in Spinal surgery during fellowships at reputed centres like Norwich, Cardiff, Cambridge and travelling fellowship in various centres in Europe and India. He was appointed a Consultant Spinal surgeon in 2013.

Mr Bhagat provides care for a full range of spinal conditions including degenerative disorders, trauma, tumours, infections, deformities and sports related injuries. He has specialised interest in minimally invasive keyhole spine surgery and degenerative deformity. He also runs a specialist paediatric spinal clinic at Ipswich Hospital.

Mr Bhagat is involved in the teaching of medical students, orthopaedic registrars, junior spinal surgeons and para-medical staff. He serves as a faculty on various teaching courses.

Research

Mr Shaishav Bhagat has published a number of peer reviewed articles in international orthopaedic and spine surgery journals. He has extensively presented his work at various national and international meetings.

Mr Bhagat has been the principal investigator for a global multi-centre study on fusions in the lumbar spine. Some examples of his publications are as below.
