About

I deals with all aspects of colorectal disease. My particular areas of expertise are colorectal cancer, advanced pelvic oncology, robotic and minimally invasive surgery, proctology and surgery for inflammatory bowel disease. I also have a great interest in hernia surgery, both open and laparoscopic.

Education

I qualified at Wroclaw Medical University in Poland in 2005 with an MD. I gained extensive experience internationally throughout my surgical training career, starting in the Department of General and Oncological Surgery in Wroclaw.

In 2013 I completed my General Surgical training and began working in Ireland where I went on to complete a Fellowship in Laparoscopic Surgery.

In 2015, I was awarded 'The European Society Fellowship' in Rome and followed this with an 'Advanced Pelvic Oncology Fellowship' in Wales. In 2015, I gained my Fellowship of Royal College of Surgeon's Ireland qualification.

Since March 2016 I was appointed as a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at University Hospital Plymouth.

Teaching and quality of care

Throughout my consultant career, I've been passionately involved in teaching, research and quality improvement projects.

I was the first surgeon to perform robotic colorectal resections in the South West of England. I also developed the 'Colon Capsule Endoscopy' service in Plymouth.
