About
Mr Phillips is a Consultant Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon. He looks after children and adults and has a subspecialist interest in rhinology (the specialist study and treatment of problems of the nose and sinuses) and voice pathology (treatment of problems with the voice including hoarseness). After a first degree in engineering, he retrained in medicine and then completed higher ENT training in South London, spending time at Guy's Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital as well as other hospitals in the area. He obtained an MSc in Voice Pathology at UCL, and then undertook a year's specialist fellowship training in Rhinology in Sydney, Australia. He has published research articles on a wide range of ENT subjects, and is the author of an ENT textbook entitled 'Total Revision - ENT'. Mr Phillips looks after NHS and private patients with a wide range of ENT (Ear Nose and Throat Surgery) conditions. He is the lead for the York Voice service and also runs a specialist Rhinology clinic at York. He also sees medico-legal cases on request. Mr Phillips teaches junior ENT surgeons and medical students, and also oversees the training of final year medical students at Hull York Medical School.
