About
Mr Middleton is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in foot and ankle surgery.
He deals with all aspects of foot and ankle problems, ranging from bunion correction and neuroma surgery to foot and ankle fusion and management of deformity.
Scott also has expertise in treating arthritis and sports injures in the foot and ankle, as well as surgical and non-surgical solutions for Achilles' heel and plantar fascia problems.
After completing his surgical training in Edinburgh, he undertook one year of specialist fellowship training at the Vancouver General Hospital in Canada. Following this, he was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in NHS Fife where he treats complex foot and ankle problems.
Mr Middleton is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh and the Head of Education for EduSurg Ltd. He was the co-author of a textbook titled Trauma Vivas for the FRCS, and co-authored a chapter in The Oxford Textbook of the Fundamentals of Surgery.
Mr Middleton is also a tutor for the Master of Surgery in Trauma and Orthopaedics at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, where he also sits on the Board of Examiners. As a surgical trainer in the NHS, Scott is a Clinical Supervisor for the South-East Scotland Orthopaedic Surgical Training Programme.
