About

I'm a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee conditions. I have over 20 years of experience in lower limb joint replacement and reconstruction.

I provide private care at Nuffield Health Derby Hospital and also work in the NHS at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton.

I perform over 200 joint replacements each year. My outcomes are closely monitored and show consistently high success rates.

I specialise in the treatment of hip and knee problems, including:

  • Arthritis of the hip and knee (joint wear and stiffness)
  • Joint problems in younger, active patients
  • Complex cases requiring revision surgery.

I focus on providing high‑quality, patient‑centred care. I do this by choosing treatments that improve long‑term function and durability. I will take time to understand your condition and explain your treatment options clearly.

My aim is to reduce your pain, improve your movement and help you return to an active lifestyle. I'll help you feel informed, confident and supported, while achieving the best possible outcome.

Education

I qualified in medicine in India and completed my orthopaedic training there before moving to the UK in 1998.

I was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 2007 and I completed advanced training in joint replacement surgery, including a specialist fellowship in Leicester. I also trained at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham.

I am a clinical tutor responsible for the training of junior doctors in our NHS trust and responsible for their teaching and training.

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors. My personal interests include tennis, travelling, skiing and running.
