About
Mr Sanjay Miranda is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hand, wrist, elbow and peripheral nerve conditions. He has performed over 12,000 surgical procedures and has more than 100 five-star reviews on Doctify, consistently rated for clear communication, clinical outcomes and a reassuring manner.
He qualified from Newcastle upon Tyne medical school in 1993 and trained in orthopaedic surgery across centres in Nottingham, Derby, Birmingham and Coventry. He undertook 2 years of fellowship training across 3 internationally recognised units: the Pulvertaft Hand Centre in Derby, one of the UK's leading specialist hand surgery centres; North Shore Hospital in Sydney, focusing on complex hand conditions and peripheral nerve surgery; and the North Sydney Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Centre, focusing on shoulder and elbow surgery. He has sub-specialised exclusively in hand and upper limb surgery since 2003 and has been a Consultant since 2005.
His practice covers carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, Dupuytren's disease, De Quervain's tenosynovitis, tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, ganglion cysts, wrist ligament injuries, scaphoid and hand fractures, wrist arthritis, osteoarthritis of the hand and thumb, biceps tendon injuries, peripheral nerve conditions, and joint replacement of the thumb, wrist and fingers.
Mr Miranda's clinical approach is built on careful listening and systematic examination. The majority of upper limb problems can be resolved without extensive investigation; he investigates where the clinical picture genuinely requires it and ensures every patient understands their diagnosis and management plan in plain terms.
