About
Mr. Samuel Mackenzie is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, specialising in the management of sporting, traumatic, and degenerative conditions of the upper limb. He has a particular interest in shoulder conditions and has completed two specialist surgical fellowships at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and the renowned Sydney Shoulder Institute.
Having personally experienced shoulder injuries and surgery, Mr. Mackenzie provides patients with a unique perspective on both the surgical process and recovery.
For Mr. Mackenzie, orthopaedic surgery is not just a profession but a passion. His primary aim in any consultation is to ensure that each patient is well-informed about their condition and understands their treatment options. He is a dedicated advocate for his patients, ensuring they receive a bespoke treatment plan tailored to their specific needs and expectations.
Mr. Mackenzie has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles and authored a widely successful textbook for surgical trainees. His book has been translated into multiple languages and has sold over 30,000 copies internationally.
