Mr Molyneux is an experienced Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, specialising in hand, wrist, and upper limb surgery, including sports‑related injuries and trauma care. Known for his precise surgical technique, patient‑focused approach, and expertise in managing both complex trauma and everyday orthopaedic conditions, he provides high‑quality care for patients experiencing pain, injury, or reduced function in the upper limb.
Extensive training and international fellowship experience
Mr Molyneux graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2002 before completing his core surgical training in the North East of England. He then moved to Edinburgh for higher specialist orthopaedic training, gaining extensive experience in trauma, hand surgery, and upper limb conditions.
At the end of his UK training, he completed a prestigious year‑long specialist fellowship in Vancouver, Canada, focusing on advanced techniques in upper limb and trauma surgery. He returned to Edinburgh in July 2013 to take up his current consultant post at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, one of Scotland’s busiest trauma centres.
