About
Mr Rob Peden is a consultant ophthalmologist specialising in oculoplastic, aesthetic, cataract, lacrimal, and orbital surgery. His post-graduate training was completed at Moorfields Eye Hospital (London), as well as in Edinburgh, Cambridge, and Harley Street.
He provides bespoke structural, functional, and aesthetic surgery around the eyes, brow, and mid-face, working closely with patients to achieve natural-looking cosmetic outcomes. His extensive training as an eye surgeon enables him to assess the health of the eyes and surrounding structures, anticipate potential challenges, and incorporate these insights into comprehensive surgical planning.
Mr Peden performs cataract surgery with excellent outcomes and a very low complication rate. An audit of his cataract surgery over the five years leading up to February 2020 showed the following results: best-corrected vision of 6/6 (“20-20”) or better in 87.9% of patients without other eye diseases (compared to the UK average of 50.7%); 6/9 or better in 100% of patients (UK average 76.2%); and 6/12 (driving standard) or better in 100% of patients (UK average 96.2%). His complication rate for capsular rupture – a key indicator of surgical quality – was just 0.4% (UK average 1.1%).
