About
Mr Boyd is a trauma and orthopaedic consultant at Salisbury District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and has a special interest in foot and ankle surgery, as well as complex trauma and limb reconstruction.
He qualified from Southampton University in 2001 after also obtaining a BSc in Anatomy from Leeds University in 1999. He trained in hospitals over the South of England and New Zealand before starting his specialist registrar training in the Kent, Surrey and Sussex rotation. He was awarded the FRCS in Trauma & Orthopaedics in 2016 before getting a Certificate of Completion in Training in 2017. He has completed two fellowships:
- Specialist foot and ankle fellowship in Bournemouth, working for Mr Heath Taylor, past president of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS).
- Complex trauma and limb reconstruction fellowship at St George's Hospital, London with Professor Alex Trompeter.
He was also awarded an International travelling fellowship from BOFAS and went to Cape Town, South Africa.
His NHS practice is in Salisbury, where he has been working since 2019.
