Mr Refaie is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in advanced foot and ankle surgery, offering expert diagnosis and personalised treatment for a full range of foot and ankle conditions. Known for his calm, approachable manner and meticulous surgical skill, Mr Refaie is committed to helping patients get back to pain‑free movement as quickly and safely as possible.
After completing his orthopaedic training in Newcastle, Mr Refaie was awarded prestigious scholarships from both the British Foot & Ankle Society and the British Orthopaedic Association. These awards enabled him to train at internationally recognised centres of excellence in Glasgow and Sydney, where he gained advanced experience in complex foot and ankle surgery that few surgeons have the opportunity to obtain.
A dedicated educator as well as a surgeon, he is actively involved in training future orthopaedic surgeons across the NHS and teaches on multiple specialist courses, including the local orthopaedic master’s programme.
Mr Refaie prides himself on delivering a truly personalised service, taking time to understand every patient’s lifestyle, goals, and concerns. He believes strongly in shared decision‑making, ensuring patients feel informed, reassured, and confident in the treatment plan they choose together — whether surgical or non‑surgical.
