About
Meet Mr Refaie - a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in foot and ankle surgery. He provides expert diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, helping patients reduce pain, improve movement and return to normal daily activities.
Renowned for his friendly and approachable manner, Mr Refaie works closely with patients to create personalised treatment plans, using both non-surgical treatments and advanced surgical techniques where needed.
Mr Refaie completed his orthopaedic training in Newcastle and was awarded prestigious scholarships from the British Foot & Ankle Society and the British Orthopaedic Association. These opportunities allowed him to train at leading international centres in Glasgow and Sydney, gaining advanced experience in complex foot and ankle surgery.
Alongside his clinical work, he is actively involved in training future orthopaedic surgeons within the NHS and teaches on specialist courses, including orthopaedic master’s programmes.
Mr Refaie takes time to understand each patient’s symptoms, lifestyle and goals. He focuses on clear explanations and shared decision-making, so patients feel informed and confident about their treatment options.
