About

Mr Bommireddy is a Consultant Spinal Surgeon who completed his orthopaedic training in the London Deanery, specialising in spinal surgery. For the past 20 years, he has worked at University Hospitals Derby & Burton NHS Foundation Trust, where he previously served as Head of Spinal Services at Royal Derby Hospital and was Lead Clinician for spinal cancer services for 10 years. 

He has a special interest in microscopic and minimally invasive spinal surgery to support faster recovery. Outcome data from the British Spine Registry for approximately 799 patients who underwent lumbar spine surgery under his care demonstrate improvements in both leg and back pain. He regularly participates in complex spine surgery meetings and morbidity and mortality meetings to review and improve his practice.

Mr Bommireddy is actively involved in teaching medical students and orthopaedic trainees and has a strong research profile, with over 30 publications in peer‑reviewed journals.
