About
Mr Sidaginamale, known as Raghu, is an experienced orthopaedic (bone and joint) consultant who specialises in hip and knee replacements and treating joint pain.
He sees both self-paying and insured patients every Monday at Nuffield Tees Hospital.
Raghu is passionate about helping patients improve their quality of life. He focuses on providing safe, effective, and caring treatment so patients can move more easily and with less pain.
Alongside his private work, he is a full-time consultant at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, where he treats injuries, runs clinics, performs surgery, and leads on clinical quality and safety.
He is also involved in training and mentoring doctors, helping to prepare surgeons for their exams and supporting trainees at all stages of their careers.
Raghu trained in both India and the UK, gaining experience at leading hospitals including the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham and several London hospitals. He completed advanced specialist training in the North East and went on to complete a fellowship in New Zealand, where he gained further expertise in complex joint replacements and robotic-assisted surgery.
He also holds a PhD in Bioengineering from Newcastle University and has contributed to important research into hip replacements, helping improve care for patients worldwide.
Raghu lives in the North East with his wife and two children.
