About

Mr Das is a Consultant ENT Surgeon with specialist experience in ear surgery, paediatric ENT and skull base surgery.

Mr Das sees children with ENT conditions at Nuffield Health Brighton Hospital, offering specialist care for a wide range of ear, nose and throat problems.

Since joining Brighton and Sussex NHS Trust, Mr Das has introduced laser-assisted ear surgery. This technique is used to treat chronic ear infections and to improve hearing.

Education

He trained at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London and completed his specialist ENT training across South East Thames. During this time, he worked at leading hospitals including Brighton and Sussex NHS Trust, Guy’s and St Thomas’, Great Ormond Street Hospital and King’s College Hospital.

Mr Das then completed a one-year fellowship in Canada at the University of Toronto, where he focused on advanced ear surgery (otology), skull base surgery and paediatric ENT care.

Alongside his clinical work, he completed a Master’s degree in Surgical Education at Imperial College London. He has a strong interest in teaching medical students and supporting future surgeons.

Personal interests

Outside work he enjoys the Sussex Countryside, including running, cycling and since retiring from playing rugby coach at Heathfield and Waldron RFC.

Research

Current regional research lead in a national study evaluating genetic causes of glue ear in children. Clinical research in hearing and balance disorders at The University of Toronto-leading to multiple publications in international peer reviewed journals. Mr Das publishes and presents regularly in all areas of ENT.
