About
Mr Piers Moreau is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in conditions affecting the hand, wrist, elbow, and upper limb. He provides expert diagnosis and treatment for problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren’s contracture, wrist arthritis, trigger finger, nerve compression, and upper‑limb injuries.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, a Fellow of the British Orthopaedic Association, a member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH), and an active Faculty Member of the AO Hand and Wrist Group, supporting education in advanced upper‑limb surgery.
Educated at Eton College, Mr Moreau went on to study at Jesus College, Cambridge before completing his medical degree at St Bartholomew’s Medical School, London, qualifying in 1991.
He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1995 and moved to Shropshire in 1997 to join the highly respected Stoke and Oswestry training rotation. He was appointed as a Consultant in 2003.
As part of his specialist training, he completed a
prestigious Fellowship in Hand and Wrist Surgery at the internationally
renowned Pulvertaft Hand Unit at Derby Royal Infirmary.
