About

Mr Pete Gallacher is a highly experienced Consultant Knee Surgeon, specialising in sports knee injuries, acute knee trauma, and arthroscopic knee surgery. He provides expert diagnosis and treatment for patients with knee pain, ligament injuries, cartilage damage, and knee arthritis, offering both surgical and non‑surgical management tailored to each patient.

Mr Gallacher completed his specialist orthopaedic training on the prestigious Oswestry Orthopaedic Training Programme, developing a strong subspecialist interest in surgery around the knee. During training, he worked under leading clinicians including Dai Rees and the Oswestry Sports Injuries Team, as well as knee specialists in both Stoke‑on‑Trent and Oswestry.

After completing his orthopaedic training, Mr Gallacher pursued a specialist knee surgery fellowship in Sheffield, focusing on advanced techniques in knee reconstruction, cartilage preservation, and minimally invasive surgery.

He then undertook a BASK Travelling Fellowship, visiting internationally recognised centres of excellence in Europe to further expand his expertise in knee surgery, cartilage repair, and sports injury management.

Throughout his career, he has published research in both general orthopaedics and specialist knee surgery.

Mr Gallacher now works as a Consultant Knee and Sports Injury Specialist at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, where he is an integral part of the Sports Injuries Team.
