About
Mr Stone finished his surgical training in 2017 after seven years in Edinburgh and a final specialist year in hand surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. He then went on to complete the highly respected Dandenong Hand Surgery Fellowship in Melbourne, Australia.
During these two fellowship years, he gained extensive experience in treating complex hand and wrist problems. This included microsurgery, joint replacement, keyhole (arthroscopic) surgery and the management of major injuries.
He has completed the British Diploma in Hand Surgery and now teaches on the programme. He is an active member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand. He is also involved in research, has published several scientific papers, and currently leads major quality‑improvement projects at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
Mr Stone’s specialist interests include peripheral nerve surgery, Dupuytren’s disease, hand and wrist injuries, and arthritis affecting the hand and wrist, including joint replacement surgery.
