About
I am a Consultant Knee Surgeon in Derby, specialising in the assessment and treatment of knee conditions. My practice covers sports knee injuries, joint preservation, partial knee replacement and total knee replacement.
I have a particular interest in sports knee surgery, ACL reconstruction, meniscal repair and preservation, cartilage injuries, knee ligament injuries, osteotomy and knee replacement surgery.
I aim to make an accurate diagnosis and develop a treatment plan based on each patient's symptoms, lifestyle, activity level and goals. Where appropriate, I consider non-operative and joint-preserving treatments before progressing to knee replacement.
I treat patients from Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and across the East Midlands with knee pain, sports injuries, ACL injuries, meniscal tears, knee instability and knee arthritis. I also see patients seeking a specialist second opinion for complex knee problems.
I have undertaken advanced fellowship training in knee and sports knee surgery, as well as further specialist training through international travelling fellowships.
Most recently, I was selected for a two-week travelling fellowship across the United States, visiting leading experts and centres in sports knee surgery. This provided further experience of current techniques in ACL surgery, meniscal preservation, complex sports knee injuries and the management of athletes, which I have incorporated into my practice in Derby and the East Midlands.
My aim is to provide evidence-based knee surgery alongside a clear and individualised approach, helping patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options and supporting them in returning to the activities that matter to them.

I have a particular interest in preserving the natural knee where appropriate, including meniscal preservation, joint-preserving surgery and osteotomy.
For patients with established arthritis, I offer both partial and total knee replacement, depending on the pattern of arthritis, symptoms and functional requirements.
Other interests
I have a strong interest in sports knee injury prevention, rehabilitation and safe return to sport, particularly following ACL and meniscal injuries.
My international fellowship experience has allowed me to visit leading centres and surgeons and observe current techniques in sports knee surgery, ACL reconstruction, meniscal preservation and joint-preserving knee surgery.
I work closely with physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals to support patients' recovery and return to activity.
Personal interests
Outside medicine, I enjoy spending time with my family and have a keen interest in sport, fitness and maintaining an active lifestyle.
