Mr Akhtar is a highly trained Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in lower‑limb surgery, including knee replacement, hip replacement, arthroscopy, joint preservation, trauma and sports injuries.

He has been a consultant in NHS Fife since 2020 and is recognised for his expertise in modern, minimally invasive and evidence‑based orthopaedic treatments.

He completed an internationally renowned fellowship in Sydney focusing on Lower Limb Arthroscopy, Arthroplasty and Osseointegration, providing advanced experience in cutting‑edge surgical techniques for complex knee and hip conditions.
