Specialist Interests: Enhanced Recovery/ Day Case Arthroplasty
Mike is a strong believer in enhanced recovery principles, enabling patients to safely mobilise more quickly after trauma and joint replacement surgery and get back to function sooner. Mike has been an invited speaker and faculty member at several international ambulatory surgery meetings and webinars focusing on enhanced recovery and day case arthroplasty. He has published several research papers relating to this experience and outcomes (including high patient satisfaction) and in 2019 he and his team won an international award for the design and implementation of their successful day case hip pathway.
