About
Mr Prior is a Consultant Otolaryngologist, specialising is surgery for middle ear disease, cholesteatoma, glue ear and hearing loss. He also has a special interest in balance disorders and acoustic neuroma surgery.
He graduated from the University of Wales, and took his specialist ENT training in Wessex. He gained further experience of advanced ear surgery at the Portmann Institute in Bordeaux, France, and the House Ear Institute in Los Angeles, California.
He is a Fellow and Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Mr Prior performs around 100 major ear operations per year. As a sample of his surgical outcomes, the success rate of his eardrum repair surgery is 93% (a Royal College of Surgeons audit of this procedure has shown the average to be 68%).
