About
Mark is a Consultant Urological Surgeon who is known for putting patients at ease and providing expert, personalised care. A consultant since 2012, he offers timely access to clear advice and a broad range of modern treatments for both common and complex urological conditions. Approachable, calm and good-humoured, Mark takes genuine satisfaction in helping patients achieve meaningful improvements in their quality of life. He listens carefully, explains treatment options in plain language and tailors care to each patient’s individual needs, placing their wellbeing at the centre of every consultation.
Mark studied Medicine at the University of Bristol before completing Basic Surgical Training across the South West. He then undertook Higher Surgical Training in the Wessex region, where he was appointed as a consultant. Clinical interests and treatments Mark’s main clinical interest is in symptomatic benign urological conditions. He has a particular passion for helping patients reduce or eliminate their reliance on long-term catheters wherever possible.
He is an active supporter of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) and previously represented the Endourology section on the BAUS executive committee. In this role, he contributed to national education and training programmes for urology trainees with initiatives continuing to this day.

Mark’s main clinical interest is in symptomatic benign urological conditions. He has a particular passion for helping patients reduce or eliminate their reliance on long-term catheters wherever possible.
He offers a wide range of modern, minimally invasive treatments, including: · Day-case prostate, bladder, renal and groin surgery · Advanced laser techniques · Urodynamic assessment · Prostate artery embolisation (PAE)

Personal interests
Outside work, Mark enjoys spending time with his three children, playing golf and tennis, cycling around the Meon Valley, and valuing time on the water or snow.

Research
His academic curiosity led him to complete a Doctorate of Medicine, supervised by Professor Mark Speakman, former President of the British Association of Urological Surgeons. His research explored how patients experience the process of cancer investigation, reflecting his long-standing commitment to understanding the full patient experience as well as delivering excellent clinical outcomes.
