Having graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast in 1986, Mr Farrar went on to complete his basic surgical training through the Royal Army Medical Corps during a 5-year short service commission in the army. After leaving the army, he completed his higher specialist training in orthopaedic surgery in the Yorkshire rotation.
Mr Farrar was appointed to Poole Hospital in 2000 as a general orthopaedic surgeon with a specialist interest in lower limb, foot, ankle and trauma surgery. He brings all these skills and knowledge to his practice at Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital. His current practice, as well as treating the full range of foot and ankle problems, includes hip replacement, knee replacement, ankle replacement, knee and ankle arthroscopy. He also treats complex trauma problems in both lower and upper limbs. He has additional specialist skills to perform minimally invasive bunion correction and other minimally invasive foot procedures.
