About
Mr Edmondson qualified in 2001 from Guys and St Thomas’s hospital. He undertook his higher surgical training in the South East Thames region during which he gained his FRCS (T+O).
Having completed his higher surgical training in Orthopaedics, Mr Edmondson then underwent an additional years advanced training (fellowship) in Hip and Knee Arthoplasty (joint replacement) and Tumour Reconstruction in Fremantle and Charles Gairdner Hospitals, Western Australia.
Following this he undertook a further year fellowship post in Complex Trauma and Limb Reconstruction at the Major Trauma Centre BSUH, Brighton. Following this he was appointed at BSUH as a Consultant in 2014.
Subspecialty interests:
Hip surgery: ranging from small incision hip replacement and hip resurfacing, to revision surgery of infected, failing, broken or worn hip replacements, including metal on metal problems.
Knee surgery: arthroscopy and primary knee replacement.
Complex Trauma and limb reconstruction: including treating fractures around joint replacements and high energy/severe trauma of upper and lower limbs.
Local service development:
Mr Edmondson is the Lead Clinician for Hip Fracture Surgery at BSUH. This has received great praise from the CQC, due to excellent patient care and outcomes following surgery for fractured hips.

Mr Edmondson has published several articles in peer reviewed journals. I have published in arthroplasty of the hip and knee, Infection, Trauma, and Foot and ankle surgery as well aspaediatric orthopaedics.
