Patient Testimonials

"I had a day case knee replacement in June and I would certainly recommend and do it again. It was great having surgery at 10am and home for around 6pm the same day! I felt much better recovering at home rather than staying in hospital. I can only praise all of the team and Nuffield Health Tees Hospital and I am now recovering well." - June 2023

"First of all, I would like to thank Dr Ramappa and the team for successfully getting me back to what I love doing most, which is climbing and walking up in the hills whenever I get chance. The first six months were certainly a challenge and at the time you think things aren't going to get better, however I pushed myself with short 2/3 mile walks round my estate. So within the last few weeks I've managed to climb Scafell Pike in the lake district, which was the longest route to the summit and equivalent to around 10 miles to and from the car, also recently walked a stunning route in the Esk valley from Danby to Whitby, a sixteen-miler finishing off with a reward of fish & chips. I had a full knee replacement September 14th 2022, just nine months ago, I still get stiff at times, but exercise certainly helps and is also great for maintaining my mental health." - June 2023

"I had a hip replacement yesterday and I was home the same day, which was wonderful. The care I got off everyone involved was beautiful. I felt involved, not just a number, can't thank you all enough, you're truly amazing. I feel like new already and so happy" - May 2023

"I received a total hip replacement 3 weeks ago. Mr Ramappa suggested during my consultation that I would be suitable for day-case surgery. meaning there would be no overnight stay or recovery from a general anaesthetic.  I was first in theatre around 7 am, had a spinal anaesthetic and was on crutches by 2.30 pm the same day. Mr Ramappa and the staff at Nuffield gave me lots of reassurance and I knew I could stay at the hospital if I wanted to but there was no need. My recovery has been fantastic" - Mr Kitching - Nov 2022

"Able to start cycling again 3 months after my total knee replacement and built up to a 600km cycling challenge with no pain killers needed." - Mr Earnshaw - Aug 2022

"Thank you very much for all the good work that you and your team have done for me." Total Knee Replacement Patient - February 2021

"Just a quick note of thanks to the entire team at Nuffield Tees and Mr Manju Ramappa for the fantastic knee operation. Absolutely fantastic from start to end!" Meniscus Repair Surgery Patient - March 2021
