About
I studied medicine at Cambridge and Oxford Universities, and I also completed a degree in Psychology during an additional year of study. I trained as an ENT (ear, nose, and throat) specialist in the South West of the UK, mainly around Bristol.
As part of my specialist training, I spent time overseas completing fellowships in my field, working in Toronto, Canada and in Darwin, Northern Australia.
I treat a wide range of ENT conditions in both adults and children. This includes ear problems, nasal and sinus conditions, and issues with the throat and voice. I have a particular interest in ear conditions, especially complex or long-term problems that may need surgery. I also manage related symptoms such as dizziness, tinnitus, Ménière’s disease, and hearing loss.
I run dedicated voice clinics and also provide medico-legal services as an expert witness, particularly in cases involving noise-induced hearing loss.
In addition to my clinical work, I am the Clinical Sub-Dean at the University of Exeter Medical School, and I examine candidates for the Royal College of Surgeons’ final ENT exams.
For the past seven years, I have regularly travelled to Nepal to take part in charity ear surgery camps run by BRINOS (Britain Nepal Otology Service). During these 10-day trips, we typically carry out around 140–150 major ear operations for patients who often travel long distances to receive treatment.
