About
I am an experienced Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon and have been practicing at Queen’s Hospital, Burton, for more than 10 years. I provide comprehensive orthopaedic care with a particular focus on lower-limb conditions, combining a meticulous surgical approach with a strong commitment to patient-centred care.
I completed my medical degree at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, graduating in 1995. I subsequently undertook orthopaedic specialist training in the West Midlands, gaining broad clinical experience across several major UK teaching hospitals.
I further developed my expertise through a dedicated lower-limb arthroplasty fellowship at Royal Derby Hospital, working under the guidance of leading surgeons Mr Tim Wilton and Mr Guido Geutjens.
In addition to my clinical training, I am a qualified Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Trainer, reflecting my ongoing involvement in trauma management and medical education.
I perform a wide range of orthopaedic procedures for conditions affecting the hip, knee and forefoot. My practice includes lower-limb joint replacement, joint-preserving procedures and arthroscopic techniques designed to improve function and reduce pain.
I also undertake corrective forefoot surgery for a variety of deformities and conditions. My clinical approach is characterised by clear communication, personalised treatment planning and a focus on achieving a safe and effective recovery for every patient.
