Mr Jonathan Rossiter

Mr Rossiter is a highly experienced consultant who has worked in ophthalmology for over 25 years. He has been in private practice as a consultant for approaching 20 years specialising in cataract surgery and glaucoma. During this time he has performed over 10,000 cataract and refractive lens procedures, including many complex cases relating to his glaucoma practice, with outstandingly low complication rates.

Mr Jonathan Rossiter is a specialist in:

• Cataract surgery, including premium lens implants
• Refractive lens exchange
• Glaucoma care, including laser trabeculoplasty and surgery
• General ophthalmology.

Mr Rossiter is an expert in small incision cataract surgery, often carried out under a ‘no-needle’ anaesthetic technique. He has gained extensive experience with premium lens implants, including toric lens implants to treat astigmatism and multifocal lenses – both of which may allow patients to become spectacle independent after cataract surgery.

Mr Rossiter also offers refractive lens exchange, a very appealing alternative to laser vision correction surgery for those over the age of 50. Unlike laser, this procedure can correct both near and intermediate sight, in addition to distance vision.

Mr Rossiter completed his glaucoma and cataract training at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London in 2005, widely regarded as one of the world’s leading centres for eye care. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He keeps his practice up to date by regularly attending international conferences.

In addition to his cataract work, Mr Rossiter specialises in glaucoma treatments, including selective laser trabeculoplasty, a treatment that can be used instead of inconvenient daily eye drops. In addition, he carries out a broad array of surgery for glaucoma, including minimally invasive Trabectome and XEN implantation, trabeculectomy and the insertion of glaucoma drainage devices. Mr Rossiter is a specialist in all forms of glaucoma treatments, including selective laser trabeculoplasty and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery such as i-stent and Preserflo, as well as trabeculectomy and the Paul glaucoma implant.
